My Friend Gym

My body is something I tolerate and live with; it’s sort of like a sibling. I will now shock readers who believe they can improve their bodies with exercise. I honestly don’t know anyone who has done that. The people that I see at the gym look good and have always looked good. They are maintaining not recreating. It is true I am arguing with myself. Shouldn’t I try to reshape and lose weight? It’s something to consider. Afterall, I have joined a gym.

Sometimes I get, “Why is she here?” looks but my fellow gym partners are focused on their own exercise routine.

What does Miss Pat do at the Jr. College gym? They know I have arrived because all the pins go from 100+ pounds to the 10 lb. slot. Next, the seat comes up. I am considerate because I never stay more than two minutes on any one machine. The secret to my new gym success is the purchase of a way too expensive but very essential arm band phone holder and ear plugs. Thanks to Pandora, I have one hour of Southern Gospel pumped into my head and soul. Thanks to Pandora, I exercise with a smile and occasionally can be heard saying, “Glory” under my breath. I am enjoying my gym experience. I have more energy and feel great. I use every machine and it takes one hour. Work those arms, legs, back, and core. Push and puff and “Glory, glory, glory.” When I get home, I reward myself. I’ve earned it, all that pulling and pushing. Now I can relax and watch TV. Will this be with or without ice cream?
